Top exec to resign from Arkansas bank.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Ron W. Strother, 45, announced he will resign next year as president and chief operating officer of First Commercial Bank and as chairman and chief executive officer of First Commercial Mortgage Co. Both companies are in Little Rock.

Mr. Strother will become a partner in Commercial Ventures Inc., a new real estate investment company. He will remain on the boards of directors of both the bank and mortgage company.

Mr. Strother started his career with First Commercial's predecessor bank, Commercial National, in 1973.

First Commercial Corp. is a multibank holding company that owns 14 affiliate banks and 50% of a 15th bank, primarily in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. The mortgage company is one of its major affiliated entities, offering mortgage financing throughout Arkansas and in Memphis. It also conducts mortgage financing nationwide.
