NationsBank's Friars named to top group.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Eileen M. Friars, president of NationsBank Card Services, has been elected to the Committee of 200, a prestigious association of women in business.

Members of the group, based in Chicago, must own business with annual revenue of more than $10 million or manage corporate divisions with more than $50 million in annual revenue.

Ms. Friars, 43, became chief of NationBank's card operation in January 1992. It has 1,500 employees and about $5 billion of outstanding accounts, making it the largest U.S. bank card business unit headed by a woman.

She joined C&S/Sovran Corp., a NationBank predecessor, in 1990 after 14 years as a consultant with the MAC Group.

Among other members of the Committee of 200 are Linnet F. Deily, chairman and chief executive officer of First Interstate Bank of Texas; Gay Culverhouse, president, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Lillian Vernon, chairman and chief executive officer, Lillian Vernon Corp.; and Muriel Siebert, president of Muriel Siebert & Co., New York.
