First Data completes sale of telemarketer.

OMAHA -- First Data Corp. has completed the sale of a telemarketing subsidiary to Cincinnati Bell Inc. for $63 million.

Cincinnati Bell said it will combine the unit, WATS Marketing of America, with its Matrixx Marketing subsidiary.

The purchase prices could rise to $8.75 million, based on WAT's marketing performance.

Omaha-based First Data is the parent of First Data Resources Inc., the largest processor of credit card accounts in the United States. In September, First Data reached an agreement in principle to sell WATSMarketing.

WATS, also based in Omaha, has 3,000 employees, compared with Matrixx's 4,000.
