Money market assets dipped last week.

The Investment Company Institute reported that assets invested in money market mutual funds dipped to $595.15 billion in the week ended Dec. 15. That is a decline from $601.78 billion the previous week

Assets were down in all four categories tracked by the Washington-based trade group: taxable and tax-exempt funds for retail and for institutional investors.

Retail fund assets slipped to $398.25 billion, a $2.33 billion decline. Institutional fund assets totaled $196.90 billion, down $4.30 billion.
