MEXICO CITY - Grupo Financiero Serfin, one of the leading Mexican banking groups, said it will begin offering Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
Besides giving access to 11 million merchant locations around the world, the company said, the cards can be used at 158,000 cash machines in Mexico and other countries, provide automatic car-rental insurance, and will be replaced within 48 hours if they are lost or stolen.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
