HURST, Tex. - Surety Capital Corp. said it will change the name of a subsidiary, Texas Bank, to Surety Bank, effective Saturday.
The change will avoid confusion with the many other institutions with Texas in their names, said C. Jack Bean, chairman of Surety Capital, an insurance-premium financing company that has diversified into commercial banking.
Surety reported $48.5 million of assets on Sept. 30, up from $31.4 million a year earlier. Texas Bank earned $436,231 in the first nine months of 1993, up from $229,199 in 1992.
