Brenda Mathews was promoted to president and chief operating officer of Governors Bank in West Palm Beach, Fla., succeeding George Bassett.
Ms. Mathews has been with the bank since late 1991. She was senior vice president of operations.
She has 23 years of banking experience. Before joining Governors Bank, she was a senior consultant at Svejda & Co., Orlando, a banking consulting company.
Ms. Mathews had previously been senior vice president of United Bank of Pinellas, St. Petersburg, Fla., and vice president and cashier at Bank of Florida, Chiefland.
She began her banking career at the former First Bloomington Lake National Bank, Minneapolis.
Ms. Mathews said Governors Bank is developing new products and reorganizing its community advisory board.
