H. Richard Ishler takes presidency at Wayne County.

H. Richard Ishler Jr., chief executive officer of Wayne County Bank and Trust Co., Honesdale. Pa., has assumed the additional post of president.

He succeeded Russell L. Ridd, who relinquished the post after a career spanning more than 30 years at the northeastern Pennsylvania bank.

Mr. Ishler had been executive vice president and chief executive officer of the bank since May 1992.

Prior to joining the bank, he was president and chief executive of Commonwealth Bank Central, Williamsport. Pa.

Mr. Ridd will be chairman of the board of directors, to which Mr. Ishler has been elected.

Under Mr. Ridd's direction as executive vice president and chief executive and later as president, the bank grew from $18.5 million of assets in 1971 to almost $200 million.

During that time, the bank opened offices in Hawley and Milford, Pa. It employs about 100 people.

Currently, Mr. Ridd is overseeing a 23,000-square-foot expansion of the bank's headquarters in Honesdale.

The expansion is slated for completion in September.
