Kodak, Sterling to join in marketing of imagers.

The office imaging division of the Eastman Kodak Company and the directions division of Sterling Software Inc. will join forces to market systems that automate the fulfillment of item photocopy requests within banks.

The systems streamline the process of retrieving information needed for backroom operations at financial institutions.

By reducing the need for human intervention, banks will be able to fulfill requests more quickly than through manual methods.

The systems also allow users to make requests at mainframe terminals and receive images of checks or sales drafts.

Kodak's Rochester, N.Y.-based office imaging division manufactures and markets business-to-business imaging solutions.

Sterling Software has headquarters in Dallas.

The Royal Bank of Scotland has decided to install several of Kapiti Inc.'s banking systems.

Five of Kapiti's Equation systems will be installed in the bank's overseas branches.

Included will be applications covering retail banking, foreign exchange/money markets, and commercial loans, as well as wholesale banking and treasury operations.

The bank's office in Hong Kong will use Kapiti's global regulatory reporting system, FreeForm/GRS, to automate the production of statutory reports.

Additionally, two Royal Bank offices, in Piraeus, Greece, and Gibraltar, will install iti's PC-based branch automation package, the Cashier System.

The Royal Bank of Scotland, Britain's seventh largest, has 800 branches throughout the United Kingdom.

Kapiti is based in New York.

BancTec Inc. of Dallas recently received orders valued at $2.3 million for work-station-based document processing systems.

Contracts were signed with Deposit Guaranty Corp., Jackson, Miss.; PNC Bank Corp., Pittsburgh; Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Atlanta; Commerce Bank of Kansas City, Mo.; Household International, Prospect Heights, Ill.; and Texas Commerce Bank, Dallas.

The processors will handle remittance needs, such as credit card and bill payments.

Horizon System

Citizens National Bank, a $250 million-asset institution in Henderson, Tex., has selected Systematics Financial Services Inc.'s Horizon Integrated Financial System to assist in its secondary marketing/investor reporting.

Systematics has headquarters in Little Rock, Ark.

Fiserv in Deal

For Data Line

Fiserv Inc. of Milwaukee, Wis., has agreed to acquire Data Line Service Co., Covina, Calif

Data Line is a provider of financial data processing and related information management services for more than 40 financial institutions throughout California.

The proposed transaction is subject to a number of conditions, including negotiation of related vendor contracts, applicable regulatory approvals, and approval of Data Line shareholders.

The Data Line acquisition will strengthen Fiserv's market position in the west.

MoneyMaker inks

Texas' 1st Colony

First Colony Bank signed a multiyear agreement with Affiliated Computer Services' MoneyMaker automated teller machine network for electronic funds transfer processing, ATM driving, and card services.

First Colony Bank is a $50 million-asset institution headquartered in The Colony, Texas.

Affiliated has headquarters in Dallas.

Two Banks Join

CES Partnership

As part of an agreement under its Agent Bank Partnership Program, Card Establishment Services of Melville, N.Y., will provide agent bank payment processing services for the merchant portfolios of Atlantic Bank, New York, and Covenant Bank, Haddonfield, N.J.

The Agent Bank Partnership Program is a turnkey program designed to allow banks to offer merchant processing and help attract new business accounts.
