TORONTO - Royal Bank of Canada and Royal Trustco Ltd. said they have signed definitive acquisition and financing agreements for the bank's previously announced purchase of Royal Trustco's Canadian and international operating units.
The companies said the previously announced terms did not change materially and they expect to close the deal by Aug. 31 or the last day of the month in which all required court and regulatory approvals are obtained.
Royal Trustco's management has prepared an information circular to be distributed to shareholders by the middle of July, ahead of meetings to discuss the merger plan.
