A Maryland credit union said it will become the second financial institution to market computerized telephones for home banking made by Online Resources and Communications Corp.
Combined Science Technology and Research Federal Credit Union, of Gaithersburg, Md., a $75 million-asset credit union that also goes by the name Comstar, plans to make the phones available to its 10,000 members this fall, said chief executive Robert McClosky.
"We hope to make us more convenient, and give [members] more of a reason to to do their financial transactions with us," Mr. McClosky said.
Comstar will charge customers $89.95 for the phones, and a monthly service charge of $9.95, which, in turn, will be forwarded to Online for equipment and services.
Online's other financial institution customer is Baltimore-based MNC Financial Corp.
