Burger King in pact to accept cards.

Boatmen's National Bank of St. Louis signed an agreement with MasterCard International to bring debit and credit card acceptance to 18 Kansas City-area Burger King restuarants.

Cards that the stores will accept include Maestro, MasterCard's on-line point-of-sale debit card; BankMate, the regional electronic banking card, and MasterCard and Visa cards.

The processing is being handled by the MasterCard Automated Point-of-Sale Program, known as MAPP.

Ram Mobile Data will use is its wireless network to connect restuarant terminals to Banknet, MasterCard's global processing network. Authorizations are expected to take less than 10 seconds.

Other Deals

MasterCard also announced a similar agreement with merchants in Osage Beach, Mo. Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks will handle the relationships.

The merchants - McDonald's, Captain D's, Hardees, Benetton, and Baskin-Robbins - are the First U.S. resort-area retailers to go live on Maestro.
