Chrysler won't jump on card bandwagon.

TORONTO -- Chrysler Corp. has decided against entering the credit card business, chairman Robert J. Eaton said at the company's annual meeting.

There was widespread speculation that Chrysler would follow General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co., which in the past year have launched cobranded bank credit cards that give customers incentives to purchase automobiles.

"We have no intentions, at this point, to enter into that market," Mr. Eaton said. He did not elaborate.
