Mortgage interest rates have risen significantly this week, according to preliminary results of a survey by HSH Associates, Butler, N.J.
Lenders were offering 30-year fixed mortgages at 7.35%, up 15 basis points from the week ended July 23, the research firm said.
The jump reflected a rise in long-term bond yields.
The last time the average climbed by more than 10 basis points was the week ended May 14.
