Takao Soeda has been elected president of Tokai Bank of California, Los Angeles, a unit of Tokai Bank Ltd., Nagoya, Japan.
He will also be general manager of the parent bank's Los Angeles agency.
He succeeds Takashi Inouchi, who was promoted to general manager of Tokai Bank Ltd.'s New York branch.
Mr. Soeda, who has an MBA from Northern University in Evanston, Ill., was joint general manager of Tokai Bank Ltd.'s international headquarters in Tokyo. He joined Tokai in 1969.
