Major bank stocks were mostly lower again on Thursday as investors continued to worry about the impact of falling interest rates on banks. In late trading, J.P. Morgan & Co. was off $1.25 to $73.125, Mellon Bank Corp. was down $1 to $55.625, and Keycorp was off $1 to $37.875.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.

The two regional banks are anticipating that borrower demand will increase in the back half of the year. High interest rates and economic uncertainty have been muting the appetite for borrowing.
