Bisys signs up 2 Florida banks.

Florida's Independent Bank of Ocala signed a multi-year data processing contract with Houston-based Bisys Inc.

After investigating several systems, the $30 million-asset commercial bank chose Bisys for its ability to automate the bank's mortgage and lending services. About 65% of the bank's business is residential mortgage lending. The bank expects to have the new system completely implemented by late fall 1993.

In addition, Madison Savings and Loan Association, Palm Harbor, Fla., also signed a data processing services agreement with Bisys. Madison is a $140 million-asset community bank. The transition should be completed by fall 1993.
