Online Resource's ScreenPhone gains.

Online Resources and Communications Corp., of McLean, Va., has announced that it will team up with Southwestern Bell Corp. to market telephone devices that can be used for home banking.

Under terms of the agreement, Online Resources will sell its Screen Phone service to banks, and Southwestern Bell will sell advanced calling services for Screen Phones.

The ScreenPhone is actually a telephone with a small screen display. Privately held Online, which was founded in 1989, markets the ScreenPhone to banks, which then offer the phone to their customers.

Bank customers use ScreenPhones to do basic banking Transactions are processed by Online's computers.

The ScreenPhone's display is supposed to make the transactions easier to do. Southwestern Bell will initially market the ScreenPhone in St. Louis, where the telephone company is based.

The advanced calling services Southwestern Bell will make available on the ScreenPhone include caller identification, which allows the caller's name
