Harris names Coxe to investment post.

Harris Bankcorp has named Donald Coxe president and chief investment officer of its Harris Investment Management Inc. unit.

In mid-October, Mr. Coxe will replace Jon Brightman, who returns to the position of department executive of Harris Trust and Savings Bank's corporate and institutional trust department.

Mr. Coxe, who has 26 years' experience in the institutional investment business, joins the Chicago bank from a sister company, Harris Nesbitt Thomson. Both are units of Bank of Montreal.

A frequent speaker at financial and actuarial conferences, he has been an expert witness before the United States Senate Finance Committee.

After college, he served briefly as an associate editor of National Review, a magazine to which he continues to contribute. He has moderated the television program Firing Line several times.

Harris Bankcorp has $26 billion in discretionary trust assets.
