Most major bank stocks bounced back from losses Tuesday blamed on stock market nervousness about the policital crisis in Russia.

J.P. Morgan & Co. rose $1.25 a share, to $75.125; Bankers Trust New York Corp. was up $2, to $78.125; and Wells Fargo & Co. gained $3.875, to $121 in late trading.

Banc One Corp. was ahead 75 cents, to $39.25; Signet Banking Corp., 62.5 cents, to $31.625; and First Chicago Corp., 62.5 cents, to $47.25.

Among the few losers, National City Corp. w as off 25 cents a share, to $25.875; Meridian Bancorp., 25 cents, to $32.625; and Amsouth Bancorp., 12.5 cents, to $30.25.
