Citizens-Jackson of Mo. buys deposits.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Citizens-Jackson County Bank said it had acquired $16.7 million of insured deposits and $9.4 million in assets of Superior National Bank, Kansas City, from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Superior National, with assets of about $20.5 million, was closed by the Comptroller's Office last week because the bank, with less than 2% tangible capital, was critically undercapitalized. It was the second bank to fail in the United States this year and the first in Missouri.
