Two GE Capital units providing private-label card for U.S. Shoe.

The United States Shoe Corp., Cincinnati, said that its women's specialty retailing group has launched a private-label credit card program.

GE Capital Retailer Financial Services, Stamford, Conn., and Monogram Credit Card Bank of Georgia -- a subsidiary of GE Capital -- will provide the credit card program.

The card can be used by w,omen across the apparel group's 1,300 stores and live women's apparel brands.

Casual Comer, Petite Sophisticate, August Max Woman, Capezio, Pappagallo, and Career Image Company Store retailing operations will accept the card. "Customers like the simplicity and the convenience of shopping at all our stores with one card," said Michael Searles, president of WSRG.

"On top of that, we have some special rewards for our cardusing customers."

The card's introductory program allows customers to earn certificates of up to 15% off, based on their level of purchasing between October 1994 and January 1995.

Cardholders get ongoing programs entitling them to earn future merchandise certificates, based on spending levels. The program was tested in Chicago during August and September before the rollout was announced last week. U.S. Shoe is a specialty retailer of women's apparel, optical products, and footwear.

At midyear, U.S. Shoe operated 2,332 retail outlets.
