Systematics renews pacts with 16 banks.

Sixteen community banks on the West Coast have renewed their contracts with Systematics Financial Services Inc, for software systems and services.

Under the terms of the contracts, Little Rock-based Systematics will provide the banks with its Horizon Banking System for community financial institutions. Horizon is a relational database system designed for the International Business Machines'AS/400 platform. It offers a comprehensive set of integrated financial applications adaptable to the community banking environment.

"The fact that Systematics' clients are choosing to renew their software agreements indicates we are providing successful solutions that meet the changing needs of community banks," said Janie Bolitho, Systematics' national client services manager. "And because Horizon's integrated applications were designed specifically for this segment of the financial market, many of our clients have chosen to migrate from our traditional mainframe solution to the Horizon system."

The contracts will be handied through the vendor's community bank west division.

The California-based banks involved in these contracts are Bank of Coronado, Commerce National Bank, Downey National Bank, First Charter Bank in Beverly Hills, First Continental Bank in Rosemead, Foothill Independent Bank in Glendora, Granite State Bank in Monrovia, Kerman State Bank, Oak Valley Community Bank in Oakdale, and Santa Fe National Bank in Norwalk. Five of the banks signing renewals are located in Los Angeles. They are American International Bank, First Business Bank, Guaranty Bank of California, International Bank of California, and Sedan Bank.

Bank of Salem in Oregon also renewed its contract.
