FDIC Chairman Tigert names Woolley as deputy for policy.

Forming her new team at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., chairman Ricki R. Tigert has hired Leslie Woolley as her deputy for policy.

Ms. Woolley has been Sen. Bob Graham's legislative director since 1987. In addition, Ms. Woolley's resume includes stints at Chemical Bank and on the House Banking Committee.

She is close to state banking issues, too, as the wife of Doyle Bartlett, general counsel at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.

Phil Battey is returning to the FDIC to write Ms. Tigert's speeches. He has yo-yo'd between the FDIC and the Comptroller of the Currency's Office penning speeches for both former FDIC Chairman William Taylor and former Comptroller Robert Clarke.

Finally, Ms. Tigert has temporarily lured Hoyle Robinson out of retirement as her special counsel. After 30 years with the agency, the last 14 as executive secretary, Mr. Robinson retired from the FDIC in January.
