NEW YORK -- York of New York said it has completed the acquisition of the corporate trust business of Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Co., Baltimore. The transaction, which was announced in August, involved the transfer of over 550 bond trustee and agency relationships.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
