CHICAGO -- Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp. said it plans to commit "at least $25 million and other major resources" during 1994 to finance home mortgage loans for minority and low-to moderate-income families throughout Illinois.

James Ferriter, director of marketing, announced the plan during a kick-off briefing for 40 Chase mortgage representatives. He said the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Home Buyer's Program significantly eases the rules and preconditions for minority and mortgage applicants with annual incomes no higher than $55,600.
