Interlinq Software Corp. has announced it has officially released the latest version of its mortgage-origination software.

Version 6.O of the software, called MortgageWare, runs on personal computers and is designed for managing the application process for home loans. Interlinq said the software is installed in about 5,000 locations in the United States. "MortgageWare 6.0 is a major milestone for Interlinq," said chief executive Robert M. Delf. "It is the most significant upgrade of the product to date, and approximately 22 person-years of effort went into its development."

Company officials said one of the more important new features of the program is its ability to handle up to 12 borrowers and 12 sellers for each loan application. Other improvements include an enhanced security system, and the ability to transmit loan data eleclxonically to Ginnie Mae for securitization.
