SHAMOKIN, Pa. -- Central Pennsylvania Financial Corp. said its principal subsidiary, Central Pennsylvania Savings Association, completed the sale and transfer of eight full-service branches to National Penn Bank of Boyertown, Pa.
Ronald S. Faett, president and chief executive of Central Pennsylvania, said the sale was in keeping with terms of a merger agreement with Fulton Financial Corp., which is still awaiting shareholders' and regulators' approval.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
