A bank service bureau, SBS Data Services Inc., signed up Eastside Bank and Trust Co., Snellville, Ga., as the first customer of its new Atlanta-based data center
Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., SBS Data Services was formed this year by SBS Corp., which designs and installs optical disk storage technology. SBS Data Services is processing Alabama-based banks from its Birmingham office. Georgia operations of SBS Data Services win be housed in the same building as the $45 million Eastside Bank and Trust.
SBS expects to be serving about 30 banks by the end of its first year of operation and to add 30 banks per year.
The company is using Kirchman Corp.'s Dimension software on AT&T System 3000 hardware. Capabilities include transaction processing, loan and deposit processing, customer information, executive information, and regulatory compliance.
