Sendero signs banks in Spain, Thailand.

Sendero Corp. has signed two contracts with foreign banks for asset-liability and data management systems.

Banco Sabadell, a 383-branch commercial bank with headquarters in Sabadell, Spain, is installing the Sendero CS, which measures existing and potential risk exposure.

It allows the bank to break its balance sheet into small banks m order to clarify current position and model-future effects of changes in interest rates on net interest income based on such factors as customer behavior, pricing systems, embedded options, and index repricing.

The bank is also installing a data management system from Sendero. This interface is used to transfer data from the bank's own data base and mainframe systems, such as the general ledger, and feed it into appropriate categories in the PC-based simulation model.

Banco Sabaden, with $10 billion of assets, has offices in eight foreign countries, including offices in Miami and New York.

In a separate contract, the second-largest Thailand, Thai Farmers Bank Bangkok, is installing Sendero's asset-liability and data manage systems.

The bank will be using the product to measure existing and potential risk exposures in the balance sheet and for business and profit planning. The 400-branch commercial bank has $17 billion of assets.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Sendero Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fiserv Inc.
