Jack Henry announces management shift.

Community bank software company Jack Henry & Associates Inc. announced last month that its namesake founder has given up his title as chairman, replaced by this son.

The Monett, Mo.-based firm said John W. "Jack" Henry, 59, will remain active with the company, serving as a senior vice president. The company's board of directors appointed Michael E. Henry, who has been with the company since 1979, chairman and chief executive. The CEO title was previously held by Jerry D. Hall, who also remains at the company as an executive vice president.

Company officials said the moves were part of previously announced plans to provide for an orderly management transition.

The board also gave president Michael R. Wallace the additional title of chief operating officer.
