SAN FRANCISCO - Visa's payment volume in the United States jumped in the third quarter to $74.7 billion from $58.3 billion in the comparable 1993 program.
The growth rate was 28.2% topping 20% for the fifth consecutive quarter.
U.S. cards in circulation also rose at a rapid 21.3% pace, reaching 196.5 Million on Sept. 30. That represents 53.4% of the global Visa total of 368 million.
