Amex trading notes linked to regional bank stocks.

NEW YORK -- The American Stock Exchange has begun trading the first note linked to the movement of a basket of regional bank stocks, issued by Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.

Lehman issued one million of the Regional Bank Stock Upside Note Securities, or Suns, which trade under ticker symbol BKG.

On an initial trade, BKG opened at a price of $24.875 on a volume of 159,300 Suns.

The Lehman Regional Bank Suns were offered at an issue price of $25 and mature on Dec. 5, 1996.

The amount payable at maturity varies according to how far the bank basket is above the original basket value of 100.

Regardless of the level of the basket at maturity, the securities will return no less than $23.75, representing 95% of the original issue price.

The AMEX also trades another Lehman offering of Suns, which are linked to the movement of telecommunication stocks.
