NEW YORK -- Chase Manhattan Corp will give its employees a yearend cash present for the second year in a row, according to an internal memo distributed at the company.
The cash grant of $375 will be issued to each Chase employee, in the United States and around the world, minus taxes. Employees will also get an additional day off in 1995. The bank last year gave employees $300.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
