MONTREAL -- National Bank of Canada has opened a retail banking subsidiary in Florida to serve Canadian tourists and expatriates.
The Pompano Beach-based Federal Savings Bank operates under the name Natbank and will have a French-English bilingual staff of 17 headed by Raymond Gelinas, a 25-year bank veteran. More than 100,000 Canadians live in Florida for at least several months annually and nearly a million vacation there every year, the Montrealbased bank, Canada's sixth-biggest with $32 billion of assets, said.
