Buffalo - First Empire State Corp. has acquired six up-state New York branches from Chemical Banking Corp.
The branches, were merged into First Empire's commercial bank subsidiary, Manufacturers and Traders Trust Co.
The new offices became a part of M&T Bank's Hudson Valley division. The unit now operates eight branches in Orange County and six in Rockland County.
