Consumer confidence remains strong in Asia.

SINGAPORE -- A Master-Card International/Price Waterhouse survey found that consumer confidence remains strong throughout the Asia Pacific region -- although not as strong as in the last survey six months ago.

About 4,600 consumers were interviewed, in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan.

While Southeast Asia, Australia, and Korea top the MasterIndex survey in overall consumer confidence, Indonesia had the highest rating -- 86.7 -- followed closely by Malaysia.
