B of A adds supermarket branch in L.A.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Bank of America said it opened a branch this week in a Vons store in the Inglewood section of Los Angeles, the bank's 13th supermarket branch and the first in a low-income area.

The Vons branch is open 63 hours a week and includes two automated teller machines and a 24-hour customer service telephone.

As a show of commitment to the community, Bank of America announced a $500 donation to Schools of Inglewood Inc., an anti-dropout campaign, and is sending 20 local children to Dodger Baseball Camp for a week this summer.

The bank has other supermarket branches in Albertson's, Bel Air, Lucky, and Smith's stores.
