Marine Midland opens India business unit.

NEW YORK -- Marine Midland Bank has formed an Asian business unit to provide banking and financial services to companies doing business in or with India.

The $17.5 billion-asset, Buffalo-based bank, a unit of the London-based HSBC Holdings PLC, will offer banking, trade finance, and investment services with India through offices in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Kansas City, and Los Angeles.

The bank said other HSBC units, including Hongkong Bank, Midland Bank PLC, British Bank of the Middle East, and Saudi British Bank, will help provide the services. Hongkong Bank and British Bank of the Middle East have 33 offices in India.
