Merrill Lynch lays off three in municipals unit.

Merrill Lynch & Co. has laid off three municipal finance professionals, company officials confirmed.

Lori-Ann Wynter, a director, William M. Corrado, a vice president, and Manuel A. Angeles, an associate, all members of the public finance department, were laid off.

A Merrill spokesman confirmed that the three left the company, but declined to discuss the circumstances.

In 1990, Wynter was named a vice president in Merrill's housing finance unit. Previously, she worked as a vice president at Standard & Poor's Corp., where she spent six years.

In 1992, Corrado worked in Merrill's energy group, which focused on public power, industrial development bonds, and resource recovery issues.

No information was available on Angeles' work history.
