Kapiti to market trade finance tool.

Kapiti Inc. recently acquired the marketing rights to Express, an application that allows corporate clients to manage their international trade finance business by providing them direct access to their bank's systems and with links to the corporation's other offices.

The product is geared to smaller banks with little expertise in international trade financing, as well as for those interested in establishing a communications link between branches and regional or head offices.

The system was developed by Tseng Technology Inc., a Seattle-based firm specializing in trade finance technology.

The PC-based system allows employees to access their bank's systems to initiate or check the progress of a trade finance transaction. It can be integrated with back-office trade finance packages from other suppliers. It can also be used as a message link between correspondent banks.

Available on diskette, information can be retrieved using an index and subdirectory on different topics, regardless of their location. A historical function automatically highlights the current article or topic in a particular document and information on topics that the user previously accessed. A search function highlights specific subjects, such as unauthorized transactions or returns, and then provides instant access to all references to that subject.

ACH RulesLink is available from Nacha for $75 for members and $150 for nonmembers.
