Nebraska thrift buys Kansas branches.

OMAHA -- Commercial Federal Corp. said it acquired four branches and about $288 million of deposits of the failed Franklin Federal Savings Association in Kansas from the Resolution Trust Corp.

Commercial Federal, the biggest thrift in Nebraska, did not disclose the terms. It said the acquisition will bring its branch total to 65 in Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

Franklin has been under the RTC's supervision since 1990.
