Paul J. Brown, senior vice president of Whitney Holding Corp., New Orleans, has been appointed regional executive of the bank holding company's new Western Region.
The new division, which reports to William L. Marks, chairman and chief executive of Whitney Holding, will comprise 12 locations in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, including the six locations of the former Baton Rouge Bank and Trust Co.
In December 1993, Whitney National Bank agreed to acquire the Baton Rouge bank. The deal awaits regulatory approval.
Mr. Brown, who is based in Baton Rouge, was elected senior vice president of the holding company in 1992. He joined Whitney in 1989 with responsibility for credit administration. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of Mellon Financial Service Corp.
