CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NationsBank Corp. said it has launched a joint effort with SER Jobs for Progress National Inc. to promote homeownership and mortgages in Hispanic communities.
The organizations set up a toll-free hot line with bilingual operators to help "increase applications and help more Hispanic families attain homeownership," said Catherine P. Bessant, NationsBank's principal community investment officer.
SER, a Hispanic service corporation, will hold homebuying seminars in the Dallas area, where it is based. People who complete the course can apply to NationsBane Mortgage Corp. for a loan at terms tailored for low and moderate incomes.
