MasterCard clearing out of New York City.

NEW YORK -- MasterCard International Inc. said it would relocate its global headquarters and entire staff from New York City to Westchester County next year.

In June, MasterCard said it was considering moving most of its employees to a suburban location, with the exception of about 90 core staff. Instead, all 550 employees will head north to a site yet to be determined.

MasterCard has narrowed its new search to three locations, including a vacant building owned by IBM in Harrison, N.Y.

Association officials estimate the move will save $200 million over 20 years. A year ago, MasterCard leased nine floors of the Burlington House, a few blocks from its current Manhattan offices, with the intention of relocating there. The company has sublet most of that space.
