Security Capital of N.C. records flat earnings.

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Security Capital Bancorp earned $3.5 million, or 30 cents a share, for the June 30 quarter. Earning were flat when compared with the same period a year ago.

For the six months of the year, Security earned $6.9 million, or 59 cents a share, compared with $7.6 million, or 64 cents a share, for the comparable period in 1993.

The decrease was primarily due to an accounting change that added $388,000 to net income in the first six months of 1993.

Security also experienced reduced net interest income and reduced gains on sales of loans.
