Innovative lands 2 pacts in UK.

Innovative Systems Inc., a Pittsburgh firm that provides marketing and sales information systems, won two contracts in the United Kingdom for customer information systems.

The Bradford & Bingley Building Society, the largest thrift in the United Kingdom, ordered software and services worth more than $1.1 million from the vendor.

The software will provide $19.6 million-asset Bradford & Bingley with customer information by creating a single source data base, accessible by all departments and branches.

Bradford & Bingley is based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

In addition, Abbey National PLC, a London-based bank with assets of $125 billion, signed a contract with Innovative Systems to upgrade its customer data base.

The system assesses the bank's records, then identifies fragmented client relationships, despite differences due to misspellings, data entry errors, and variations in name and address information.

It also reformats and standardizes data for a new customer information resource that uses a dictionary to identify client names.
