The 1992 HMDA data, previously available only on magnetic tape, PC diskette or paper copy, is available on CD-ROM for $150. The HMDA data cover 1992 mortgage lending activity in metropolitan areas. The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council said it expects to make 1993 HMDA data available to the public by late October or early November, including the metropolitan statistical areas' aggregate reports and individual disclosure statements, and the HMDA loan application register records.
Seven pieces of information, drawn from census-tract data, were added to each record that include total population, minority population and other information commonly used to analyze HMDA data. Both CD-ROM products can be ordered from FFIEC by calling (202) 452-2016.
