1st Hawaiian, Pioneer join Star System Inc.

SAN DIEGO -- First Hawaiian Inc., parent of First Hawaiian Bank and Pioneer Federal Savings Bank, has joined Star System Inc., which by some measures is the largest regional electronic banking network in the nation.

Combined, the two Hawaiian institutions bring 94 new automated teller machines to Star System.

ATM cardholders from First Hawaiian and Pioneer Federal will get access to almost 15,900 ATMs in the Star network, which serves a number of western states, including California, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii, Colorado, and Oregon.

Star System is owned by its 770 member institutions.
