THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- Nationale Nederlanden US Holdings Inc., part of a major Dutch banking and financial-services conglomerate, said it received a license to form a life insurance company in Poland.
The company said it would build a network of sales agents that should begin operating by early next year.
Nationale Nederlanden said it agreed in principle with Bank Slaski, a regional Polish bank that is 25.9%-owned by International Nederlanden Groep, to offer insurance policies through its branches.
Poland will be the third East European country where Nationale-Nederlanden is active in life insurance.
